SITUATION

MobileCAN! represents a strategic partnership among the Mobile Chamber Foundation, Mobile Chamber, Innovation Portal, and the Melton Center at the University of South Alabama. Established in 2024 with a substantial $2.8 million grant from the Minority Business Development Agency’s Capital Readiness Program, MobileCAN! is designed to provide specialized programming to an estimated 2,200 business owners and entrepreneurs in the first four years.

To meet their ambitious objectives, MobileCAN! required a comprehensive brand identity system, a suite of marketing tools, and a dedicated website. Collaborating with Blue Leopard Agency, MobileCAN! aimed to develop a high-quality, thoughtful branding and outreach strategy.  

The objective was to craft a branding solution that would seamlessly translate across various graphic identity applications and mediums, including advertising, social media, and the web, ensuring a cohesive and effective brand presence. The result, a cohesive branding strategy that not only enhances visual impact but also strengthens the message of community and support for the business community, ensuring that MobileCAN! remains at the forefront of every local business owner’s mind as a resource for growth and success.

MobileCAN! is dedicated to empowering businesses by linking them with vital resources essential for their growth and access to capital. With a new wave of business owners emerging in Port City, it was imperative for MobileCAN!'s brand to mirror this evolving ecosystem of business owners and entrepreneurs who are ready to start, manage, and grow their businesses.  

The small business community in Mobile is becoming increasingly diverse, yet the fundamental needs for resources and support remain constant. MobileCAN! plays a pivotal role in bridging these businesses with the necessary resources to effectively meet their needs. Partnering with Blue Leopard Agency, every aspect of the brand was meticulously crafted to resonate with the current dynamics of the business community and to connect authentically with the region’s diverse landscape all while illustrating the forward momentum for business in the region. 

 

THE LOGO

The logo of MobileCAN! serves as a dynamic visual representation of its identity—embodying its values, mission, and vision for the future. Designed to be striking and confident, the logo resonates with local business owners who aspire to mirror these qualities in their own ventures. This visual representation facilitates the development of trusted relationships between MobileCAN! and the local business community. Featuring a bold design and vibrant colors, the inclusion of a forward-pointing arrow symbolizes progress and forward movement, reflecting a modern landscape where businesses in Mobile can prosper and expand.

Iconography plays a pivotal role in visually articulating the services offered by MobileCAN! Each icon is designed to provide visual expression for a specific program, service, or resource, capturing the essence of MobileCAN!'s commitment to growth and progress. To maintain a cohesive brand identity, all icons incorporate a forward-pointing arrow, symbolizing forward movement and advancement.  

THE PATTERN

The MobileCAN! pattern visually captures how businesses are linked together through the Mobile Capital Access Network. This design visually symbolizes how the network not only connects businesses to one another through extensive networking opportunities but also empowers them by providing access to essential resources to help start, manage, and grow their business. The design uses a continuous pattern to illustrate ongoing connections and growth, making it a clear symbol of how MobileCAN! keeps businesses moving forward together.

The MobileCAN! brand is strategically designed to stand out in both digital and physical marketing landscapes. The branding elements are versatile and dynamic, making them ideal for various marketing materials and merchandise. The simplicity and boldness of the design ensure high visibility and impact across different platforms, from print to large-scale advertising. Whether seen on a coffee mug that might sit on an entrepreneur’s desk, as a sticker on equipment or laptops, or on a large billboard by the highway, each piece serves as a reminder of MobileCAN!’s network and resources available to local businesses.

As a collaboration among multiple partners offering more than a dozen programs and resources to the business community, MobileCAN! needed a website that is not only well-organized and informative but also intuitive to navigate. The site was designed with the user experience in mind, ensuring that navigation seamlessly guides visitors to the solutions they need. Through thorough research to determine the site's requirements, Blue Leopard Agency developed a detailed site map that addresses every anticipated need. The resulting website is not only responsive but also SEO-optimized, making it an invaluable resource for the local business community, ensuring they have easy access to all necessary tools and information to foster their growth and success through the Mobile Capital Access Network.
